Our story

Jarvis Downing & Emch is a construction services company located in Wheeling, WV with roots dating back to 1922. JD&E offers construction services in multiple states, including Construction Management, Design-Build, and General Construction in the commercial, institutional, industrial and gas & oil sectors.

Our first project, (photos to the right) consisted of demolition of an existing structure and construction of a new structure for the Greer & Laing Hardware Company located on the 15th block of Main Street in Wheeling, WV. This structure has since been replaced by the Intermodal Parking facility. The triangular structure to the right is the Flat Iron building and still stands offering residential housing and light retail. This project was started in early 1922 and completed in mid 1923.

JD&E is the longest tenured construction firm in the area, and we have the reputation of quality and professionalism that is second to none.
